T.D.L Angostura Butterfly White Reserve

This white rum comes from Trinidad Distillers Limited under the Angostura Butterfly label, the living producer behind Angostura bitters. TDL distils light and high on the column still using Trinidadian molasses, and this is a young, lightly aged expression bottled at a low 37.5%, made for accessibility and mixing rather than depth.

Lightly held in ex-bourbon oak for around three years, it stays pale and gentle, with citrus on the nose and a soft, slightly sweet, oily palate carrying a clean spirit warmth. The character is deliberately light and neutral, more about easy drinkability than depth, and the modest strength keeps everything restrained. This is a straightforward, cocktail-minded Trinidadian, honest about being a soft mixer in the island's light tradition rather than a rum for serious neat sipping.
