T.D.L Angostura Aged 5 Years

This is a young Angostura aged rum from TDL, Trinidad Distillers Limited, the living producer within the Angostura bitters group, bottled at five years. TDL works strictly Trinidadian molasses, column-distilled light and high, in the smooth, fragrant Spanish-heritage style that defines most of the island's living output.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it shows a soft, dessert-like profile, creamy caramel and vanilla on the nose with a nutty edge, then caramel, nuts, confectionery and oak on the palate, finishing on buttery dried fruit. It reads gently sweet and approachable, closer to a polished everyday rum than a serious sipper, and sits a step above basic bar rum without straying from familiar territory. Best enjoyed in a relaxed pour or stirred into a simple drink, this is comfortable, newcomer-friendly Trinidad rum at an everyday strength.
