An Easy Peasy No. 9 from Swell de Spirits, drawing on Le Galion in Martinique. This is a Grand Arome, the high-ester, long-ferment molasses style, so despite Martinique's agricole fame it is a molasses rum rather than cane juice, an assemblage of ex-bourbon casks bottled unsweetened at 54.1%.

This is funk turned up high. The nose is a real fruit bomb, overripe tropical fruit and banana over young wood with a hint of botanicals and vanilla. The palate is hit with tropical fruit and esters, a buttery texture and a light salty edge, and the finish brings strawberry, more ester and a funky lift. The high ester count gives it big, ripe-fruit intensity, and at 54.1% it delivers that character without harsh alcohol bite, friendlier than the stronger Wild-style funk bombs.
