Swell de Spirits Easy Peasy Series (Exotic Blended Rum)

The Easy Peasy Series from French bottler Swell de Spirits is an exotic multi country blend that does not hide its youth. At two years old it leans on bright fermentation character rather than wood, with ester led tropical fruit, pear, banana and litchi over a floral lift.

Drawing on both molasses and sugar cane juice and combining pot and column distillates, it is bottled at 51% and matured in ex bourbon wood, with added sugar unstated. The palate shows young wood, esters, tropical fruit and honey, finishing on citrus and yellow fruit with a light, fresh feel. There is genuine character for the money, but the youthful, lightly funky profile is happiest in a glass with ice rather than sipped neat.
