Description
Suntory Wa-kyo is a Japan-market blend bottled in 2015, drawing on malt whisky from the Yamazaki distillery in Osaka Prefecture married with grain from Chita in Aichi Prefecture. Without Hakushu in the makeup, it is a leaner two-distillery expression compared to the full Hibiki range, carrying a simpler flavour architecture.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the blend takes on the clean sweetness and orchard fruit typical of Yamazaki malt alongside Chita's light vanilla grain character. At 43% it is gentle and accessible, a straightforward NAS expression that reflects the softer, fruit-forward side of Suntory's house style without the added complexity of peated or mizunara-matured components.
