Lemon peel and coriander brighten a firm, dry core of juniper, with a flicker of pepper underneath. Built in small batches in the classic London Dry style, flavoured by distillation alone with no sugar in sight. It takes its name and its grin from the wild-haired German storybook boy.
Description
This is the half-litre bottling of Struwwelpeter, the London Dry from Hippmann & Krauss that borrows its name and its mischievous design from the famously untidy boy of a nineteenth-century German storybook. The liquid is made the strict way, in small batches by the London Dry method, with every flavour drawn out through distillation and nothing added afterward, no sugar, no artificial flavouring. Strong juniper sits at the centre alongside fresh citrus peel, coriander seeds and fine herbs, a recipe good enough to take Bronze at the 2025 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
The nose leads with juniper, fresh citrus zest and herbal spice. On the palate it is dry and balanced, lemon peel and coriander framing the pine with a hint of pepper. The finish is clean and long, carrying a persistent juniper note and an elegant dryness. Reach for it in a Gimlet, or build a classic G&T with a lemon twist.
