A Strathisla single malt, selected and bottled by Hidden Spirits, a 17 year old Speyside malt from 2002, drawn from cask ST220 and bottled at 52.4%. The outturn was 201 bottles. Established in 1786 as the Milltown distillery in Keith, in the heart of Speyside, Strathisla is the oldest working distillery in the Highlands. Strathisla is the fruity heart of Chivas Regal, owned by Chivas Brothers since 1950.

It was drawn off the distillery's short copper stills, for a fruity, honeyed spirit with real weight. Ex-Bourbon casks held the spirit, soft oak that lets the fruit lead. Around two decades the malt gains a fuller honey and a dried fruit weight. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the honeyed, fruity core over time. The Isla valley's soft water and old stills shape a honeyed, fruity spirit. Strathisla is the oldest continuously working distillery in the Scottish Highlands, founded in 1786.

Undiluted at 52.4%, it is layered. A gentle vanilla and cream from the wood, with pear, honey and a buttery malt. The texture is rich and creamy, the fruit lifted by honey. The finish runs rich, nutty and warm. This is a rich, honeyed Speyside single malt.
