A distillery bottling of Strathisla, a 15 year old release and bottled at 47.7%. Set in the old town of Keith on Speyside, Strathisla has distilled since 1786. Strathisla is the fruity heart of Chivas Regal, owned by Chivas Brothers since 1950.

The spirit was made in small copper onion stills for a full bodied spirit, for a rich, fruity make of real depth. An Oloroso sherry cask wrapped the rich spirit in dried fruit and a nutty depth. Past fifteen years the fruit deepens into honey, dried fruit and almond. Dunnage warehousing on site gives a slow, humid maturation. Keith is one of Speyside's old whisky towns, north of the Cairngorms. The distillery is a centrepiece of the Malt Whisky Trail and the home of Chivas. Gordon and MacPhail have released Strathisla vintages reaching back to the 1930s and 1950s. Dunnage warehouses on site give a slow, humid maturation by the river.

At 47.7%, undiluted, it is deep and honeyed. The Oloroso brings dried fruit, fig and a nutty depth, and vanilla and a creamy note from the barrel, with pear, honey and a buttery malt. The texture is rich and creamy, the fruit lifted by honey. A warming, fruity finish lingers. This is a rich, honeyed Speyside single malt.
