A Strathisla single malt, selected and bottled by La Maison du Whisky, a 15 year old from 2007, drawn from cask 205217 and bottled at 62.7%. 553 bottles in all. Set in the old town of Keith on Speyside, Strathisla has distilled since 1786. Strathisla is the fruity heart of Chivas Regal, owned by Chivas Brothers since 1950.

The spirit was made in small copper onion stills for a full bodied spirit, for a rich, fruity make of real depth. An Oloroso sherry cask wrapped the rich spirit in dried fruit and a nutty depth. Mid age brings a deeper honey and a riper orchard fruit. Dunnage warehousing on site gives a slow, humid maturation. Keith is one of Speyside's old whisky towns, north of the Cairngorms. The distillery is a centrepiece of the Malt Whisky Trail and the home of Chivas. Gordon and MacPhail have released Strathisla vintages reaching back to the 1930s and 1950s.

Bottled at a cask strength 62.7%, it is concentrated. Raisin, date and a nutty sherry depth build, and vanilla and a creamy note from the barrel, with pear, honey and a buttery malt. The texture is rich and creamy, the fruit lifted by honey. A warming, fruity finish lingers. This is a rich, honeyed Speyside single malt.
