Single grain Strathclyde, an independent Keeble Cask Company Ltd bottling, a 31 year old release from 1994, drawn from cask 455331 and bottled at 45.1%. A release of 159 bottles. Set on an old cotton mill site in Glasgow, Strathclyde has made grain whisky since 1927. Strathclyde stands on the site of an old cotton mill in the Gorbals.

The spirit was run through column stills, an analyser and a rectifier, on Loch Katrine water, to build a soft, sweet grain character. Ex-Bourbon casks held the spirit, soft oak that drives the grain's sweetness. Long ageing brings a deep coconut, toffee and a mellow, polished oak. Long ageing turns light grain into a deep, oily, dessert sweet whisky. It was built by the gin distiller Seager Evans in 1927 on the site of an old cotton mill. Its grain whisky has long fed blends like Long John, Ballantine's and Chivas Regal. Twin Coffey stills run on wheat, the water drawn from Loch Katrine.

Undiluted at 45.1%, it is layered. The ex-Bourbon gives toffee, vanilla and a soft oil. Beneath it run coconut, vanilla and a soft oil. The close is soft, dessert sweet over oak. This is an old Glasgow single grain whisky.
