This official Springbank single malt matured to 21 year old and bottled at 46%. 3800 bottles in all. Springbank has distilled in Campbeltown since 1828, Campbeltown's most revered surviving distillery. Bottles are released in small batches, often through ballots to meet the demand.

It was given the part triple distillation unique to Springbank, the vapour cooled in worm tubs. Maturation in a sherry cask laid dried fruit over the maritime malt. At this age it is rich and complex, the fruit folded into a waxy, briny body. Everything is done on site, the spirit going from still to cask to bottle in Campbeltown. Few distilleries keep so much of the old craft alive under one roof. Campbeltown was once the whisky capital of the world, with more than thirty distilleries at its peak. Today just three distilleries survive in the old Kintyre whisky town. The maritime warehouses by the sea lend the malt its briny, oily depth.

At an approachable 46% it is balanced. An oily, maritime character with light peat are layered with dried fruit and a vanilla oak. Soft fruit and brine sit behind the cask sweetness. It finishes deep, complex and maritime. This is a revered Campbeltown single malt.
