Springbank 15 Year Old 2025 Release

While the flagship 10-year-old is famous for its balance of Bourbon and Sherry casks, the Springbank 15 Year Old takes a more indulgent path. This expression is matured exclusively in oloroso sherry hogsheads and butts. This dedicated maturation process tames the rugged, industrial "funk" of the Springbank spirit, coating it in layers of dark fruit, spice, and mahogany-hued sweetness. It is the definitive choice for those who want the weight of a "Sherry Bomb" without losing the coastal, oily character that makes this distillery world-renowned. Previous iterations did include some ex-bourbon maturation, since phased out over the past few years.

Springbank remains the only distillery in Scotland to malt 100% of its own barley on traditional floor maltings. Every step of the journey for this 15-year-old, from the "two-and-a-half times" distillation to the final bottling, takes place within the walls of their Campbeltown site. By maintaining total control over production, Springbank ensures a consistency of texture and a "thick" mouthfeel that modern automated distilleries simply cannot replicate.

On the palate, this is a sophisticated evolution of the distillery’s house style. The 100% Oloroso influence introduces notes of leather-bound books, pipe tobacco, and walnuts, which intertwine beautifully with the trademark Springbank sea spray and gentle peat smoke. Because it is bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or artificial coloring, the natural oils remain intact, providing a rich, velvet-like finish that lingers long after the final sip.
