Spitz Eierlikoer mit Weinbrand is an egg liqueur from the Austrian producer S. Spitz, bottled at 16% and offered in 700ml and 1L. It follows a tried recipe in which fresh egg yolk is blended with sugar and brandy, the Weinbrand giving the liqueur a gentle warmth that lifts it above a plain advocaat. As an egg liqueur it is a yolk and spirit emulsion, thick and custardy in the traditional advocaat style.

The nose shows delicate vanilla and caramel with a hint of brandy, the palate is full bodied and creamy with a balanced sweetness warmed by the spirit, the finish smooth and long with a fine brandy note. Being an egg liqueur it is served chilled or at cool room temperature, and once opened it should be refrigerated and used within a finite window. It pours neat or lightly chilled as a digestif, adds richness to desserts such as ice cream, cake or pudding, and is a traditional base for eggnog tart or parfait. In a mixed serve it lends body, custard sweetness and a brandy warmth to creamy short drinks.
