Description
Spitz Ang'setzta Nuss is a nut liqueur from the Austrian producer S. Spitz, bottled at 30% and made with finely roasted walnuts. It follows a tried recipe in which the natural flavours of the nuts are slowly extracted into the spirit, in the traditional macerated nut style, giving a full bodied, slightly sweet liqueur built around roasted walnut depth.
The nose shows intense roasted walnut, caramel and a hint of vanilla, the palate is full bodied and smooth with dominant nutty notes, a fine sweetness and a touch of cocoa, the finish long and warming with a nutty, slightly caramelised note. For a back bar its appeal is the roasted nut character and sweet body, which add richness and a warm autumnal note to a drink. Serve it neat, lightly chilled or over ice, use it as a digestif, or pour it into desserts such as ice cream or tiramisu for nutty depth. In a mixed serve it pairs naturally with coffee, where the walnut and cocoa notes carry well.
