A coconut forward Caribbean blend from Oldman Spirits, soft and very sweet with vanilla, toffee and tropical fruit, aged fourteen years yet built for fun rather than depth, mild and easygoing at 40%.

Description
Spirits of Old Man Project One is a Caribbean blend from the German house Oldman Spirits, matured in ex bourbon oak and carrying a fourteen year age statement, the youngest rum in the marriage. Despite the age, this is not a serious, dry sipper but an unabashedly soft and sweet crowd pleaser leaning on coconut.
The profile is coconut, vanilla, cream toffee and tropical fruit, mild and rounded from nose to a warm, sweet finish, with the sugar very much in the foreground. It is honest to call it a dessert style rum, closer to a coconut tinged treat than a complex aged spirit, and that is exactly its appeal. At an easy 40% it makes an approachable starter pour to share with friends and family, or a fun, sweet leaning option for anyone who enjoys soft, candied rums and is happy to set dry profiles aside.
