Spirits of Old Man Rum Project Choice 2021 is an eight year old blended rum drawing on molasses stocks from several countries, bottled at 46.5% by Germany's Oldman Spirits. The slightly higher strength gives it a touch more body than the standard 40% blends.

Matured in ex bourbon wood, it keeps to a focused profile of warm spice and chocolate on both nose and palate, with the higher proof well integrated rather than hot. Reports point to a medium dark spirit with light wood, coffee, faint coconut and a dried fruit edge rounding out the picture. It drinks smoothly and savoury, a solid, spice and cocoa led blend that sits comfortably above average for the style.
