Description
Dràm Mòr selected this Speyside Distillery single malt, an 8 year old Speyside malt from 2014, drawn from cask 2432 and bottled at 51.7%. Just 289 bottles were filled. Painstakingly built by hand before its first spirit in 1990 at Drumguish by the River Tromie, the Speyside Distillery is one of Scotland's smallest. Short stills and a slow distillation are coaxed by hand towards a light, fruity spirit.
Distilled in two of the smallest pot stills in Scotland under a single roof, giving the delicate, floral spirit at its heart. A Moscatel cask brought grape, honey and a floral note. At this young age the spirit is fresh and light, the apple and pear bright. A patient maturation suits the soft, fruity Speyside character. Harvey's whisky heritage runs back to 1770 and the founding of Bruichladdich.
At a full 51.7% it is intense yet fruity. The Moscatel brings grape, honey and a floral lift, and vanilla and a creamy note from the barrel, with apple, pear and heather honey. The mouthfeel is soft, the fruit carried on a honeyed body. The finish runs fresh, soft and fragrant. This is a fruity malt from one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
