This Speyburn, an official release, aged 10 year old and bottled at 43%. Founded in 1897 on the northern edge of Rothes in Speyside, Speyburn is a classic Speyside single malt. One of the best selling malts abroad, it remains quietly under appreciated at home.

The spirit was run through onion shaped stills and worm tub condensers for a rounded make, to build a clean, orchard fruit character. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding a light honeyed sweetness. At this age the spirit is fresh and fruity, the apple and pear bright. A long fermentation builds the fruity esters before the spirit meets the cask. The name joins the Spey with the Scots word burn, for a Speyside stream. A long fermentation builds the fruity esters that mark the house style. One of the best selling malts abroad, it stays quietly under appreciated at home. The classic onion stills and worm tubs give a fresh yet rounded Speyside spirit.

At 43% it is clean and fruity. Orchard fruit and a floral lift sit alongside soft vanilla and honey from the cask. A ripe pear and a gentle spice lift it. It finishes clean, fresh and fruity. This is the fresh face of Speyside whisky.
