Skibbereen Eagle takes its name from a local newspaper's famous nineteenth century editorial, and the whiskey is made by West Cork Distillers, the independent distillery in the same Co. Cork town. This blended expression carries no age statement and was bottled for the European market.
Ex-bourbon barrels give the blend its backbone, American oak lending vanilla, fresh timber and gently cooked fruit over the lighter grain. An oily, rounded texture runs through it, and at 40% it sits as a soft, sweetly wooded everyday whiskey.
