Silver Seal T.D.L 2000

Silver Seal, the collector-respected Italian house from Modena, bottled this single cask of Trinidad Distillers Limited rum, distilled in 2000 and held eighteen years at 50%. It comes from the living TDL distillery within the Angostura group, the source of Trinidad's light, fragrant column still style.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak from Trinidadian molasses, it shows woody, dried fruit, prune and tropical fruit notes on the nose, then leather, tobacco, dried fruit and wood on the palate, closing with tobacco, licorice, dried fruit and mint. At 50% it carries a rounding sweetness that makes it pleasant, though some find it lacks depth at the finish and sits a touch light and alcoholic for its age. It does not reach the heights of the celebrated 2001 to 2003 TDL vintages. A solid, dried-fruit-led Trinidad single cask for unfussy sipping.
