Description
A single cask Foursquare from the 2002 vintage at 19 years, bottled by the Italian collector house Silver Seal in its Serie Cedro and limited to 190 bottles. Unusually for the distillery this is a pot still expression aged in continental Europe rather than the tropics, which gives it a character well off the Foursquare norm.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak in cooler conditions, it opens on young wood, coconut, pineapple and citrus, then moves into liquorice, smoke, herbal and tobacco notes that lean closer to whisky or even Worthy Park than classic Barbados. The continental ageing has kept it drier and more austere, and at 56% it rewards patient sipping and side by side comparison more than easy relaxing. Unsweetened, an intriguing outlier for drinkers who want to see a different side of Foursquare.
