Silver Seal, the collector-respected Modena house, bottles this Classic Rum in its 2022 edition as a dry, multi-origin blend at 43%. In keeping with the bottler's unsweetened, mixed-proof style, it sets out to be a clean, approachable rum rather than a heavyweight single cask.

The profile leans notably toward whisky, with malt, apple and pear leading a nose dressed in vanilla and toasted bread, a palate of vanilla, pear, oak and apple, and a finish of vanilla, yellow fruit and a cherry edge with light sweetness. Ginger and gentle wood fill out the middle, and the whole thing drinks soft and rounded without rough edges. It is not built for depth or high proof, so the honest read is an easygoing, malty pour that works as a casual sipper or a mixer, well suited to drinkers who like their rum light and whisky-adjacent.
