Gentle citrus and a green whisper of lime blossom open before thyme, cardamom and juniper settle in, earthy and assured. Its lead botanical is the linden leaf, a nod to the Nibelung saga where one fell on Siegfried’s back as he bathed in dragon’s blood. Eighteen botanicals, no shortcuts, all character.

Description
Siegfried Rheinland Dry Gin draws its name and its signature from German legend: in the Nibelung saga a single linden leaf landed on Siegfried's back as he bathed in a dragon's blood, leaving one vulnerable spot. Rheinland Distillers make that leaf the lead botanical here, weaving it through eighteen botanicals in all, and they do it without industrial additives or artificial flavourings, which keeps the whole thing clean and unfussy.
The nose is harmonious and soft, gentle citrus laced with thyme, cardamom and juniper. The palate brings a surprising freshness of lavender, an earthy spice and the subtle floral note of lime blossom, all carried on a long, settled finish. It is endlessly adaptable, but a classic gin and tonic with a sprig of thyme lets that linden-leaf character sing.
