Description
MA e CO' stands for MAre e COllina, sea and hills, a premium dry gin from the Sibona distillery built around botanicals from Piedmont and neighbouring Liguria. There is real care in the detail here: distillation uses EVA mineral water from Europe's highest spring, at 2,042 metres, and the bottle is made from recycled wild glass to trim its carbon footprint. The result tastes as much of place as of process.
The nose is generous and aromatic, lavender and rose over citrus, with sage, thyme and basil giving herbal lift. The palate is rich, citrus and floral notes interweaving, and the finish runs long. Pour it with a crisp tonic and a sprig of thyme to draw out the herbs, or let it carry a fragrant, floral Gin Fizz.
