Description
Shizuoka Pot Still K is a NAS cask strength single malt produced on the distillery's ex-Karuizawa pot still at Gaiaflow's Shizuoka site in Shizuoka prefecture. The K release programme uses liquid drawn specifically from that heritage still, bottled across multiple annual editions at the same 55.5% strength, each reflecting the evolution of the distillery's young stocks. This 2022 global market release came in the standard 700ml format.
Ex-Bourbon maturation lends vanilla and a light caramel frame to the spirit's fresh fruit and honey character, with a delicate new wood spice that signals the youth of the whisky without diminishing its appeal. Cedar washbacks contribute to the clean, faintly herbal quality that runs through Shizuoka's production, and the bourbon oak adds just enough sweetness to give the cask strength presentation a balanced, open finish.
