Shizuoka 4 Years Old 2017 is a high-strength single cask cask strength single malt from Gaiaflow's Shizuoka distillery in Shizuoka prefecture, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 for an event market at 64.1%. Among the most concentrated releases from the distillery's 2017 production year, it presents the spirit with almost no moderation from the wood, which has had just four years to integrate.
The Ex-Bourbon cask brings vanilla, raw citrus and light toasted grain, all amplified by the cask strength bottling. Gaiaflow's cedar washbacks and careful distillation give the spirit a clean, aromatic edge that prevents the high ABV from reading as harsh, though adding water is strongly encouraged to explore the full range of fruit and cereal notes beneath.
