Sheridan’s Coffee layered Liqueur

Sheridan's Coffee Layered Liqueur is an Irish coffee liqueur made by Thomas Sheridan and Sons, bottled at 15.5%. Its design is its signature: the bottle holds two separate compartments, one filled with a creamy vanilla cream base, the other with an intense coffee and chocolate liqueur. When poured the two components flow together and settle into the iconic dark and light layers that make it as much a visual feature as a flavour, a genuine point of difference on the back bar.

The nose is freshly brewed coffee with sweet vanilla and a hint of cocoa, while the palate is velvety and rich, joining sweet cream, strong coffee and fine chocolate, before a long, creamy finish with a gentle coffee note. In a drink it brings a layered coffee and cream contrast, body, sweetness and a striking two tone look, the kind of liqueur that builds a talking point serve. It is best neat or over ice to show the layers, and works in coffee and cream cocktails as well as alongside desserts such as tiramisu or chocolate cake. As a cream liqueur it carries dairy, so keep it cool once opened and use within a finite window.
