Shack Red Spiced

Shack Red Spiced is a Belgian bottled rum carrying five years of ex bourbon ageing and presented at a soft 37.5%. It sits in a lightly spiced, fruit forward register, leaning more on bright citrus and orchard sweetness than on the heavy baking spice many spiced rums pile on.

The nose is floral and fragrant, honey and orange lifted by cardamom. The palate turns sharp and fruity, a cherry note alongside citrus, cinnamon and marmalade over young wood, before a sweet finish of spice, caramel and citrus. It drinks easy and approachable, with enough fruity character to keep it interesting, an undemanding pour for relaxed sipping or a fruity mixed drink that keeps the spice gentle.
