Description
Selva Capuzza is a family estate on the Brescia side of Lake Garda in Lombardy, run by Luca Formentini, and Menasasso is a single vineyard Lugana made from Trebbiano di Lugana, the local clone of Turbiana. The Lugana zone sits on heavy clay soils south of the lake, which give the wine body, weight and a saline, mineral core, while Lake Garda moderates the climate and lengthens the season so the fruit ripens fully but keeps freshness. This wine comes from a later, riper picking and is raised in stainless steel, a neutral reductive vessel that preserves the fruit and the grape's texture without adding oak character, letting the site show through. Trebbiano di Lugana is naturally full bodied for a white and often carries a signature bitter almond note, which the steel ageing keeps clean and defined. It pours bright straw gold. The nose is white peach, melon and citrus peel with a floral edge. The palate is broad and textured, ripe orchard fruit held by fresh acidity, closing on the classic bitter almond. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees.

Additional information
Its body and stone fruit suit richer fish such as trout, sea bass and grilled prawns, as well as risotto and roast chicken. The almond finish and freshness also match roasted squash and creamy pasta.
