Description
Heredad Segura Viudas is an estate in the Penedès south of Barcelona with roots reaching back to the eleventh century, and it works with a focus on biodiversity and climate certification. This rosé Cava blends Trepat, Pinot Noir and Garnacha, each given a short skin maceration for colour and flavour before pressing. As a Cava it is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation and lees ageing in bottle that add a fine bakery note and firm the mousse.
The colour is a bright pink red with a fine, lasting perlage. The nose is fruity and clear, led by strawberry and raspberry with a red currant and pomegranate edge and a soft floral note. On the palate it is fresh and lively, the red fruit balanced by a crisp acidity, with a clean and delicate finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as an aperitif and pairs with poultry, salmon and lighter fish, and has the fruit to match a berry dessert.
