Description
Se Busca is an Espadín mezcal range named in tribute to the women who fought in the Mexican Revolution for a new constitution. This is its reposado, made in the artesanal style and then given ten months in French oak, a wood rest that remains unusual across mezcal, where most bottlings stay unaged to keep the agave forward.
The pit roasting that defines artesanal Espadín leaves a base of cooked agave and wood smoke, and the French oak layers vanilla and baking spice over the top. The result reads warm and rounded, with coconut, sweet almond and hazelnut leaning into oak, grain and a thread of mesquite, all carried at an easy 40%. The barrel character sits as a frame rather than a mask, with the roast and smoke of the agave still legible underneath.
