Saneha Natural Crafted Gin is made in small batches in Thailand, its name meaning charm or attraction. The distillery folds classic juniper into a cast of Thai botanicals, lemongrass, ginger, kaffir lime leaf and pandan among them, then uses a gentle traditional method that lets each natural flavour develop. The result sits firmly in the New Western camp, where citrus and aromatics share the stage with the juniper.
The nose is fresh and floral, lemongrass, ginger and juniper over light herbal notes. The palate is balanced, citrus freshness meeting a slight spiciness, green herbs and a thread of the exotic, before a smooth, long finish of flowers and spice. Serve with tonic, a slice of lime and a few leaves of Thai basil, or shake into a lemongrass Martini for an Asian twist.
