Description
Sameirás Libro Blanco is a white made by Adega Antonio Cajide in the D.O. Ribeiro, in the Ribadavia area of Ourense in inland Galicia. It blends the native Atlantic varieties Albariño, Lado and Loureira Blanca, each picked separately after the bunches are selected directly in the vineyard. Ribeiro is a cooler, hilly interior region where granite soils and river valleys give wines their fresh acidity and stony minerality, and the return to native grapes is what gives this white its regional character and aromatic lift. The grapes go through a cold maceration to draw aroma and flavour from the skins, then ferment with their own wild yeasts at controlled temperatures, and the wine is aged for a couple of months on its fine lees, which adds a subtle texture and depth without oak. The colour is pale yellow, bright and clear. The nose is fresh and expressive, with white peach and apricot over green apple, white flowers and citrus peel. The palate is dry and vibrant, its saline, mineral core kept lively by clean acidity into a fresh finish. Serve well chilled at 9 to 11 degrees.

Additional information
Good with shellfish, grilled white fish and Galician seafood rice, where the salinity and freshness come through. The stone-fruit aromatics and clean acidity also suit roast chicken and green salads.
