Saison Saison Rum

Saison Rum is a Caribbean blend bottled at 42 percent, built on pot and column still molasses spirit aged three years in ex bourbon. It is an approachable, everyday release, balanced between sweet and dry, designed as a soft daily sipper and dependable cocktail base rather than a complex thinker's dram.

The pot and column mix and ex bourbon ageing give a gentle, rounded profile with spice playing a leading role. The nose shows vanilla, a nutty edge, cherry and pear, the palate runs to caramel, dried fruit and young wood with a dry streak, and the finish carries caramel, molasses, vanilla and a faintly metallic note. It sits in the same easygoing space as soft 40 to 42 percent sippers but a touch drier and oakier, and the alcohol is not always perfectly integrated. It is a round, balanced everyday rum, good enough to enjoy neat and reliable in mixed drinks.
