Saint Eloi Spirits Savanna Rhum Vieux Traditionnel

A Rhum Vieux Traditionnel from Savanna on Reunion, selected as a single cask by Saint Eloi Spirits. Savanna makes three distinct families, agricole, molasses and high-ester Grand Arome, and the Traditionnel name marks this as the molasses line rather than a cane-juice rum, so it sits apart from the island's agricole bottlings. It is aged ten years in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at cask strength of 51%.

The decade of tropical maturation shows in a fruity, layered profile. The nose leads with peach and apricot over herbal freshness, and the palate brings peach again alongside rosemary, bitter orange and mandarin. The finish turns to cherry wood, nutty notes, mocha and burnt sugar. It is fruit-forward and fresh, with a floral, rosemary lift running through both nose and palate, and the wood stays fruity rather than heavy.
