Sàgona’s Honorine is a Tuscan rosé from Sangiovese, made organically and naturally in stainless steel. The 2024 is bright and dry, with wild strawberry, raspberry and a fresh citrus edge.
Description
Sàgona make this rosé under IGP Toscana from Sangiovese, Tuscany's signature red grape, at a small organic and natural winery. The fruit is grown without synthetic chemicals and the wine is certified organic and vegan. Sangiovese gives a rosé bright acidity and clear red-fruit aromatics, and here the grapes are gently pressed for a pale, fresh style. Fermentation and six months of ageing take place in stainless steel, which keeps the wine clean and fruit driven and protects the primary aromatics, with a natural, low-intervention approach in the cellar. The colour is pale pink. The nose shows wild strawberry and raspberry, lifted by subtle citrus and a floral note. On the palate it is dry and crisp, with fresh red berry, a lemony lift and a clean, mineral finish at 12.5% alcohol. As a natural wine it is best enjoyed young and served well chilled. This is a fresh, food-friendly rosé rather than a wine for keeping. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees. It suits seafood, white fish and lighter Mediterranean dishes.
