Naia grows this Sauvignon Blanc on old bush vines at 800 metres in Rueda, over chalky clay. The altitude keeps it bright and green, with cut grass, lemon, green apple and a lift of white flowers.

Description
Naia farms in the D.O. Rueda in Castilla y León, and S-Naia is a pure Sauvignon Blanc from its own vineyards. Most of the fruit comes from low bush vines more than forty years old, with some younger trellised plots, all sitting at around 800 metres on calcareous clay soils. The altitude matters: warm Mediterranean and continental days give way to cold nights, and that wide diurnal swing lets the grapes ripen slowly while holding the acidity that defines the style. Cool, protective handling in stainless steel keeps the aromatics intact and the profile firmly on the green, citrus side of Sauvignon rather than the tropical. It shows a lively yellow-green colour and a nose of freshly cut grass, lemon and green apple, with elderflower, white peach and a herbal edge. The palate is dry and crisp, the chalky soils reading through as a clean mineral line into a zesty finish. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
