Rum Runner is a Barbados rum given 6 years of age, built on Bajan molasses, matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 51%. The higher strength sets it apart from the many 40% island bottlings. Barbados rum typically lands balanced and rounded, a pot-and-column style showing toffee, ripe banana, vanilla and soft baking spice, fruitier than Cuban and far less funky than Jamaican. At 51% and unsweetened, expect a drier, more assertive Bajan pour with the oak and proof giving extra grip over that familiar fruit-and-toffee core.
