Royal Oporto 20 Years Old Tawny Porto in Geschenkbox

This is a 20 Year Old Tawny from Royal Oporto, made by Real Companhia Velha, Portugal's oldest wine company. The blend is built from Douro reds such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, fortified and then set down for long ageing in the Gaia lodges, with the wines averaging around two decades in cask.

Two decades of oxidative maturation in seasoned oak concentrate the wine and push it well beyond the fruit-forward register of a young Port. The colour deepens to a fine amber, the texture turns velvety, and the fruit gives way to dried fig, nut and cask-driven spice while a bright thread of acidity keeps it fresh.

The nose shows dried figs, toasted almond and delicate caramel over aged oak, and the palate follows with praline, raisin and a hint of spiced orange zest on a long, lingering finish. Serve lightly cool as a digestif, or pair it with walnut tart, dark chocolate, blue cheese or a good cigar.
