Description
This official Royal Brackla single malt and bottled at 40%. Established in 1812 on the Cawdor Estate near Nairn, Royal Brackla is the King's Own Whisky. It was the first Scotch whisky to hold a royal warrant, renewed by Queen Victoria in 1838.
It was distilled on Cawdor Burn water in tall copper stills, for the fruity, elegant spirit Royal Brackla is known for. An American oak cask shaped it, flattering the elegant, fruity make. With no age statement, it shows a rounded, fruity body and a gentle spice. Refill oak holds back its sweetness, letting the elegant distillery character lead. The distillery sits on the Cawdor Estate, whose castle is tied to the legend of Macbeth. Captain William Fraser, an army man returned from India, built the distillery in 1812. Water for the make is drawn from the Cawdor Burn in the northern Highlands. For generations the malt was a backbone of the Dewar's blends before its single malt revival.
At 40% it is soft, honeyed and fragrant. A fruity, honeyed elegance meet a quiet vanilla from the refill oak. Beneath it run honey, apple and a warm spice. It finishes clean, elegant and fruity. This is an elegant, fruity Highland single malt.
