Bodegas Antídoto makes this Ribera del Duero rosé from Tinto Fino with a little white Albillo, farmed sustainably. It is pale pink and fresh, showing strawberry, red cherry and citrus, with a vibrant, dry palate built for easy drinking.
Description
Roselito is the fresher, more approachable rosé from Bodegas Antídoto in D.O. Ribera del Duero, in Castilla y León. It is made from Tinto Fino, the local name for Tempranillo, with a portion of the white Albillo grape, farmed under sustainable, respectful agriculture. Ribera del Duero sits high on the Castilian plateau, where hot days and cold nights give a wide diurnal range that preserves acidity and freshness in the fruit even in a warm climate. Adding white Albillo to the blend lifts the aromatics and lightens the wine. The grapes are pressed gently and fermented cool in stainless steel to keep the colour pale and the fruit bright, with no oak. The colour is a pale pink. The nose is fruity and fresh, with strawberry, red cherry and a citrus lift, and a floral edge behind. The palate is dry and vibrant, the red fruit framed by the firm acidity that the altitude provides, finishing clean and refreshing. This is a rosé made for early drinking. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees. It suits white fish, shellfish and lighter summer dishes.
