Gordon & MacPhail selected this Rosebank, a 17 year old release, from 1991, drawn from cask 2104 - 2107 and bottled at 57.9%. Rosebank stood on the banks of the canal in the central Lowlands from 1840 until it was silenced in 1993. It grew into the most cherished of Lowland names.

The spirit was run three times through copper pot stills, then cooled in worm tubs, for a light, ester rich spirit with unusual body. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding only a light honeyed sweetness. Past a decade and a half the florals deepen into honey and soft tropical fruit. Time in the cask deepens the delicate spirit into honey, tropical fruit and beeswax. Ian Macleod rescued the distillery, the trademark and the last casks, reopening it in 2023. The first new make ran on the 5th of June 2023, almost thirty years to the day after closure. Water came from the Carron Valley, feeding a light, ester rich Lowland spirit.

At a full 57.9% it is intense yet elegant. Green apple and a floral lift sit alongside soft vanilla and honey from the cask. A green apple and a herbal note lift it. The close is gentle, florals over soft oak. This is a collectable relic of a cult Lowland name.
