A distillery bottling of Rosebank, a 15 year old and bottled at 50%. Rosebank was first established in 1840 in Camelon near Falkirk, in the Lowlands and closed in 1993. A rebuilt Rosebank opened in 2023, while bottles like this remain from the old.

Triple distilled through three pot stills and condensed in wooden worm tubs, the make took the Rosebank style. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding only a light honeyed sweetness. Around two decades the malt gains a waxy weight over its floral core. Refill oak flatters Rosebank, holding back its sweetness so the florals and citrus lead. Closed in 1993, the site fell derelict and its copper stills were stolen in 2008. Ian Macleod rescued the distillery, the trademark and the last casks, reopening it in 2023. The first new make ran on the 5th of June 2023, almost thirty years to the day after closure.

At 50%, undiluted, it is deep and floral. The refill oak lending honey and vanilla, with lemon and cut grass. The mouthfeel is gentle, the honey carried on a waxy body. A long, honeyed finish carries a grassy note. This is a vanishing dram from Scotland's most mourned Lowland distillery.
