A 12 year old Venezuelan ron in the smooth Spanish style, column distilled and aged in ex-bourbon oak, openly sweetened and soft with vanilla, caramel, cocoa and dried fruit over gentle oak at 40%.

Description
Ron Roble Viejo is a 12 year old Venezuelan rum from Licorero del Centro, made in the smooth, dessert-leaning Spanish tradition. The spirit is molasses based and column distilled to a clean, light style, so the character is built mostly in the barrel and, as the copy will not hide, with added sweetening.
This is a sweet rum by design, and it leans into it: oak, brown sugar and vanilla on the nose, then a soft, caramelised palate of cocoa, dried fruit and gentle spice with a sweet, chocolatey finish. Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at an easy 40%, it is smooth and undemanding rather than complex or dry. Drinkers who enjoy the rounded, honeyed Guatemalan and Venezuelan school will find it a relaxed after-dinner pour; anyone chasing dry, high-proof or intricate rum will find it simple. Best taken neat and slow as a soft, sweet sipper.
