Ron Tepuy Monumento

Ron Tepuy Monumento is a Venezuelan Anejo from Destilerias Unidas, the large distillery best known as the home of the Diplomatico and Botucal rums. Venezuelan rum sits in the smooth, dessert leaning Spanish tradition, built on molasses spirit and shaped heavily by barrel ageing and blending.

Without a stated age this is a blended anejo, and in the house style it should lean on vanilla, honey, caramel and dried fruit over a soft, rounded body. Bottled at 40%, it is made for easy sipping. Venezuelan rons in this mould are often gently sweet, so expect a smooth, approachable glass rather than a dry, spirit driven one.
