Description
Ron S.A. Isla Grande Extra Anejo is a sixteen year old Cuban rum from Cuba Ron S.A., made from molasses in the island's light, clean ron ligero tradition. The extended ageing lifts it above the everyday Cuban whites and young anejos into more contemplative territory.
Matured in ex-bourbon and bottled at 40%, it should keep the clean Cuban backbone while gaining vanilla, caramel and soft oak spice from the long time in barrel. The added-sugar status is not recorded, so it is best read as a smooth, gently aged Cuban sipper rather than a heavy or overtly sweet ron.
