This Miracielo bottling comes from Ron Botran, made by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, the house behind the country's familiar solera style ron built on sugar cane honey rather than molasses. Listed as a flavoured rum, it sits in the warmly spiced, dessert end of the range rather than among purist aged expressions.

The cane-honey base gives a naturally soft, rounded character, and the bottling leans into vanilla, cinnamon and caramel with a citrus and allspice lift on the finish. At 38% it is gentle and easy, and the flavouring and sweetness are part of the design, so it reads sweet and spiced rather than dry.
