Romdeluxe T.D.L Wild Series Rum No. 30 1991

RomDeluxe is the Danish bottler behind the Wild Series, known for high-strength single casks with bold black-and-white animal labels. This release, number 30 in the series, takes T.D.L distillate from the 1991 vintage, a Trinidad rum aged 30 years and bottled unsweetened at 60.5% cask strength.

The light column-still base of Trinidad Distillers Limited has spent three decades in ex-bourbon oak, and the long maturation shows in the depth without dominating. The nose turns toward coconut, mint and toasted wood, while the palate brings roasted almonds, nuttiness and herbal lift before a finish of blackcurrant, tobacco and roasted oak. The fruit stays gentle and the wood, though present, never overruns the spirit. At full strength yet poised, this is a mature, contemplative Trinidad rum for drinkers who appreciate aged column distillate carried out to a rare age.
