Romdeluxe, the Danish house behind the high-ester Wild Series, offers this Strong Navy as a more affordable classic navy blend, drawing molasses rum from the traditional contributing countries and bottling it at navy strength 57.5%. It trades the menagerie funk of the flagship line for a richer, sweeter and more conventional navy profile.

The nose brings caramel, wood, dried fruit and roasted notes, the palate turns sweet with licorice, caramel and dark chocolate, and the finish stays sweet with caramel, roast and vanilla. The texture is oily with a light medicinal touch, and the overall character leans noticeably sweet for the style. It offers plenty for the money at this strength, though the sweetness can flatten some of the interest.
