Description
RomDeluxe is the Danish house known for its high-strength single-cask bottlings, and this Collectors Series No. 19 selects a five year old agricole from Poisson, the Marie-Galante distillery behind the Pere Labat label. Drawn from a 2018 vintage and pressed from fresh sugar-cane juice, it is bottled unsweetened at full cask strength.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak with sherry influence in play, it shows a rich, spirit-heavy profile: caramel, plum, tropical fruit and vanilla on the nose, carrying through to caramel, vanilla, plum and wood on the palate, then a woody, roasted, dried-fruit finish. The oak runs deep and the burnt-wood notes are pronounced, a serious, demanding cask rather than an easy one. At 63.1% it has considerable power and intensity, one for experienced palates ready for agricole at full strength and a generous helping of wood.
